Pictures of Maracas Village, it's Pirogues & Fishermen
Good photography, great art...
These striking pictures of Maracas remind us of old post cards, a quality that adds warmth and familiarity to the images. Then there is the depth of color and play of light that lends these Maracas Bay pictures the feel of oil on canvas, as if they were painted by one of the old masters. Enjoy...
It's not often you have the opportunity to look at life through an artists eyes, someone who is able to see details the rest of us miss, someone who offers a fresh view.
That is just what Joanne de Boehmler has allowed us to do, by capturing the essence of old Trinidad in these dramatic images of today's Maracas village, a North Coast fishing village tucked away at the western end of Maracas Beach, one of the most popular beaches in Trinidad and Tobago. A village little bothered by weekend crowds, a fishing community working their pirogues in rhythm with the sea they know so well.
The moment we saw these pictures of Maracas Village, and it's working fleet of Trinidad Pirogues, we knew you would love them. They provide great balance to the Maracas Beach photos we took of this beautiful beach.
