A beautiful Beach Resort
The most important issue when planning an outdoor adventure vacation is deciding on accommodations. Choosing a resort for your vacation or holiday is extremely important because they offer different amenities, services, themes and activities.
For example, you might have to choose between:
1. A regular hotel,
2. A destination resort, or
3. A resort at a destination.
The three are very different! Let's see why...
A hotel has regular rooms, restaurants, a pool and other standard amenities. A destination resort offers all of these features as well as recreational activities such as golf, spas, etc. It's called a destination resort because it provides all you need for your adventure vacation on site. The resort is the "destination".
A resort at a destination is where the resort is located in or in close proximity to popular vacation hot-spots for outdoor adventures such as sightseeing, adventure tours, beach, sea, wilderness, white water or any other outdoor activity. So the resort at a destination you choose would depend on what type of activity you most enjoy.
When planning your vacation for outdoor adventure, the best type of accommodation is often a resort at a destination. That way you have more options, both those at your resort and those in the surrounding areas. Just ensure that the resort you select has touring services or at least has access to them through local touring companies and guides.
In addition you might also have to choose whether you want a family resort, resort for couples, or whether you want a luxury resort or otherwise, depending on your budget.
